How to Evaluate a Polypropylene Catalyst System

A practical evaluation framework connecting reactor configuration, catalyst package, resin targets and plant operability.

A polypropylene catalyst cannot be evaluated meaningfully from activity or a single resin property alone. The decision has to connect the catalyst, TEAL and donor system with the reactor, grade plan and powder-handling experience.

01 / Evaluation point

Start with the production context

Record the reactor technology, current catalyst package, monomer purification, hydrogen practice and the grades that matter commercially. This establishes what the new system must actually do.

02 / Evaluation point

Separate resin targets from operating targets

Resin properties, morphology, fines, bulk density, transition behaviour and handling can pull the decision in different directions. Agree which criteria are mandatory and which are optimization goals.

03 / Evaluation point

Design a controlled comparison

Use representative grades, a stable baseline and agreed sampling. Record operational changes alongside product results so catalyst effects are not confused with unrelated process variation.
